Supreme Court board confirms validity of Duma elections
MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - The Cassation Board of the Russian Supreme Court confirmed the legality of the State Duma elections on Monday.
It turned down an appeal from the Communist Party, Yabloko and Committee 2008 to annul the ruling of the Supreme Court's first instance and have the appeal reviewed by different judges.
The plaintiffs said that numerous violations of the election law and canvassing rules, with the connivance of the Central Elections Commission, deprived voters of a correct impression of the parties participating in the election race.
